Harju Elekter is an Estonian group founded in 1968 with the aim of manufacturing and supplying electrical equipment. The group’s operations are divided into two business segments, production and real estate. The parent company, AS Harju Elekter, is responsible for cooperation within the group, management of subsidiaries, finances and business development. The shares of Harju Elekter are quoted on the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange.
The group currently has seven wholly owned subsidiaries. Harju Elekter Elektrotehnika in Keila, near Tallinn in Estonia, produces equipment for power distribution networks, including substations, cable distribution cabinets and switchboards, as well as automation and control systems for energy and industrial applications. Harju Elekter Teletechnika, also located in Keila, manufactures sheet metal products for various electrotechnical and telecom operations.
In Finland Harju Elekter operates one entity in Ulvila, near Björneborg, and one in Kurikka, about one hour’s drive south of Vasa. These companies supply equipment for power distribution, industrial control and automation systems for the energy and industrial sectors, and prefabricated substations for the energy sector.
Since 2015 Harju Elekter UAB (originally Rifas) in Lithuania has been 100% owned by the Group. The company’s core activities include manufacture and sales of electrical distribution enclosures, and the design and installation of industrial automation equipment.
In 2016 the real estate company Harju Elekter Kiinteistöt Oy was incorporated into the group. In 2017, Energo Veritas OÜ, a wholesale operation with retail outlets for electrical accessories and appliances, was added. Telesilta Oy located in Nystad, north of Åbo in Finland, was also acquired in 2017. The company is engaged in contract manufacturing of electrical equipment for ships.
In 2010 the sales company Harju Elekter AB was established in Sweden with the aim of promoting the Group’s products in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia. Later, in 2018, SEBAB and GRYTEK in Sweden were incorporated into the Group. SEBAB’s focus is power distribution solutions, while GRYTEK manufactures prefabricated technical buildings and substations. SEBAB’s and GRYTEK’s operations are now being incorporated into Harju Elekter AB, and will be promoted under the brand name Harju Elekter.
