More turnkey installations supported by a new project organization

Turnkey installations at a competitive price are what many of Harju Elekter’s customers look for. Now, Harju Elekter solidifies the project organization, making it ready for a scale-up in a strategic initiative to increase the number of turn-key projects delivered.
Requests for turn-key installations are increasing rapidly, for both substations and primary stations, as well as for power distribution in industrial, public or commercial facilities. For Harju Elekter, creating a formal project organization is the next a natural step to win a larger share of the Swedish market.
Project and quotation manager Mika Pohjonen is already appointed to run the new project organization that includes project managers, engineers and installation and service technicians. Mika himself is a seasoned project manager with experience from companies like ABB and Alstom.
We will manage the projects from start to finish, with all that entails, including design work, procurement, manufacturing, assembly and installation, but also hiring subcontractors for construction and ground construction works, fencing etc, says Mika. A turnkey project means that we are responsible for whatever needs to be done, all the way up until commissioning and handover to the customer.
Additional project managers are now being hired, with the intention that every project will have a project manager with relevant experience suitable for the specific project – be it a primary station, a substation, facility power distribution or railway power supply.
Our project managers understand the order of business in their specific areas of expertise and will be able to connect with customers more effortlessly, Mika continues. Establishing good communications with the customers is just as important as meeting deadlines and getting the right equipment in place. Transparent and continuous communication creates trust, and we will compete with an excellent customer experience as well as with the quality of the solution we deliver.
Among the projects Harju Elekter is currently working on is switchgear for DSV’s logistic center north of Stockholm, power supply to a Stockholm Exergi data center and to a gluten production unit for Agroetanol, which is a subsidiary to Lantmännen.
One of our competitive advantages is that we combine project management and engineering with our own manufacturing, where we can supply quality equipment at an attractive price, Mika says. Since everything is under our own roof, with manufacturing located so close, we can offer a high degree of adaption and customization without affecting cost and delivery times all that much. Many customers appreciate that. We supply products from other manufacturers as well, if the customer specifies it, or if it is something not in our own product range. Supplying the customer with a good overall solution is end goal after all, Mika concludes.
