Showels in the ground to kick-off construction of the new Västerås facility

On Thursday 21 October, the construction of Harju Elekter’s new facility in Västerås started with a small ceremony. The new facility will be owned by Harju Elekter and will house both a new factory and offices, on two floors. At the ceremony, someone wanted to know: “Why here, in Västerås?”
Mikael Schwartz Jonsson, CEO of Harju Elekter Sweden, answered: “There are many reasons, but the main one is that Västerås has become a hub for electrification. There is a lot of talent and expertise to draw from here and that makes this location quite valuable, even though it may involve working in close proximity with competitors. I believe that healthy competition can drive us to perform even better.”
The ceremony was attended by Jesper Brandberg, chairman of the real estate committee in Västerås, Tiit Atso, CEO of the Harju Elekter Group, Mikael Schwartz Jonsson, CEO of Harju Elekter Sweden and Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell from the construction company Logistic Contractor.
Recruitment of additional employees for the scale-up in Västerås will begin in early 2022. There will be open positions within construction, project management and assembly. To manage the growing workforce, Harju Elekter AB has hired an HR manager, starting in January 2022.
