Project News in March

The Swedish power grid is continuously under development and this spring is no exception. Two major projects in progress in southern Sweden are a primary station for Trollhättan Energi, and switchgear for Stallbacka Värmeverk (heating plant), also in the Trollhättan area.

Dalen primary station in Trollhättan

On its website Trollhättan Energi mentions that the city’s ambition is to reach a population of 70 000 by the year 2030. This means that municipal networks ¬for water, sewage and electricity must be re-dimensioned to continue efficiently serving the needs of a larger number of people. According to Trollhättan Energi, many such projects are already in progress, with more pending.

Harju Elekter has been invited to contribute to the continued expansion of the electricity network in the area by providing a new primary station. This is scheduled for completion during the second half of 2021.

Harju Elekter’s scope of supply includes a prefabricated station building with basement, mechanical ventilation and fire alarm system, with a 10 kV connection to Vattenfall’s existing transformer. The building will be equipped with 12 kV, 2 500 A, 25 kA, SNC medium voltage switchgear, with Siemens relay protection, a Trench zero point reactor with 200 kVA resistance and reserve power winding various ELCOVER cabinets, ELCOVER Netcontrol SCADA system, and a 315 A MECHA-FLEX local power distribution board, with metering. Harju Elekter will also handle ground preparation including, blasting, piping, cabling and all construction, FAT-SAT testing and commissioning.

Upgrading Stallbacka Värmeverk in Trollhättan

Trollhättan Energi also supplies district heating to companies, private houses and apartments. For this purpose, the company currently burns woodchips, which are waste material from sustainable and local forestry operations.

This is another area where Harju Elekter has been entrusted to contribute to sustainable development in the Trollhättan area. This time it is a project via Bro Underhåll & Service BUS AB for Stallbacka Värmeverk.

The scope of supply incudes 1 600 A and 3 000 A ELCOVER low voltage switchgear, plug-in with motor groups and metering, as well as various ducting and joinery. The job also includes project management, design and construction, FAT, relay testing and installation support.
