A successful year for Harju Elekter, despite a world in crisis
With Christmas and the new year approaching, Mikael Schwartz Jonsson, CEO Harju Elekter Sverige, and Thomas Andersson, Marketing Manager, share their thoughts on the development of Harju Elekter in Sweden.

Thomas Andersson and Mikael Schwartz Jonsson.
“2020 has been a tough year for many people with a pandemic and unrest throughout the world. We sympathize with all those who have suffered directly and indirectly and hope that 2021 will be a brighter year in every way.”
“We approach the end of 2020 in a very strong position, with order intake over budget. During the year we have welcomed many new people, further strengthening our combined competence. We have also prepared for the change of name and are ready to announce to the market that we belong to the Group under the corporate name Harju Elekter, which gives us even more confidence. A strong owner with a well-defined ambition to expand further in the Nordic region means increased security for our employees, our business partners and new and existing customers.”
During 2021 Harju Elekter will add a number of new colleagues in different positions. The company will also develop its portfolio in the areas of renewable energy, automation and communications. This is in order to enhance its already strong position within energy, infrastructure, and distribution of electricity to industrial and commercial buildings.
Investments in automation, communications and renewable energy
Michael again: “We are investing in automation because we see major potential in Sweden. Swedish industry is performing well despite challenging times. I think some of our competitors in this field will have difficulty competing due to increasing requirements for efficient production and competitive pricing. Harju Elekter has an advantage thanks to the Group’s combined volumes and experience in this area.”
Michael continues: “We also see potential in the communications field, with investments in 5G and further expansion of the broadband network as an increasing number of people work from home. The spread of 5G is partly because there are more connected units on both the business and the consumer side, since machines and an increasing number of consumer appliances are being equipped with IOT units. With more people working from home there is also an increased need for stable broadband. This has encouraged the Swedish Government to set up new goals for broadband development, which will speed up expansion of the fiber network, particularly in rural areas.”
Thomas adds his thoughts on the company’s ambitions in the renewable energy segment: “We will offer a charging concept for batteries and we already have interesting projects in areas such as battery storage and solar cells. One example is our solar cell concept for the Jungfrudansen housing cooperative in Stockholm. Working with their consultant, in addition to the actual technical solution, we have helped them with building permission and preliminary registration with the Swedish Energy Agency. I believe we will see many projects of this type.”
The scope of supply for the Jungfrudansen project includes MECHA-FLEX distribution boards, inverters and 575 SSH solceller, 375 W, with an effect of 21.8% and a lifetime of more than 25 years.
A brief look at some new Harju Elekter projects in Sweden:

A Peaceful Christmas and a Healthy New Year

The registration number 556505-1983 remains unchanged. “In conclusion, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our employees, business partners, customers and other stakeholders a Peaceful Christmas and a Healthy New Year,” say Mikael and Thomas.
